Earlier we were raving about the tallest, planned skyscraper for Cape Town, but that all changed when Cullinan Square announced they are soon expecting to reach a staggering 192 meters in height!
Designed by RAS Architects. The mixed-use development will feature a hotel which will occupy the highest part of the tower. It will include a sky lobby, restaurant and a spa.
20 Levels of prime office space, a retail component, a public transport hub and basement parking will be featured in this new development.
“By limiting the surface area of the tower that faces the critical south-easterly wind, and reducing the drag coefficient with an optimised building shape, the reinforced concrete core is smaller than typically expected in a tower of this height, reducing structural costs and increasing the GLA of the development,” stated RAS Architects
Until the Cullinan came along, this was going to be the tallest building in Cape Town. Designed by FWJK Architecture, the building will consist of 860 apartments and a retail section on the ground level. One tower will provide amazing 360 degree views of Cape Town.
Cape Town is preparing for many new developments in the near future. Two weeks ago we also blogged about the Harbour Arch construction, read the full story here.
I’m very excited because all these places need my furniture!
